My Wednesday started with a 7am development meeting, followed by me checking in at the agency and then an early morning voice over session for The Metropolitan Cooking and Entertaining Show. I felt fabulous getting up and out with the working folk :-)! Just kidding, but even though I’m the working folk too, I just don’t get up that early!
As you all know from the FabuList, one of my favorite night spots is CoCo Sala… So imagine my surprise when I’m walking by at 8am and see they are open for freshly made muffins and delicious lattes! I popped in and was blown away by the fabulousness of the spot in the bright daylight. Have you all ever visited a night spot during the day and it looked like crap?? Well CoCo looked clean and fresh. I really enjoyed myself until it was time for my voice over.
At around 3 o’clock, I talked to Mary and we decided to attend the James Bond themed party at The Park. I
called in my hair stylist and “look” expert Demetress and we headed out to Mary’s house in Potomac to get ready for the party. I tried not to think too hard about the measures I’m willing to go in order to look stunning for a theme party but hey, I am who I am!
Demetress whipped us in to shape in no time! Since it was a James Bond themed party, it was only fitting that we ride into the city in Mary’s Aston Martin DB9. She is truly the closest we’ll ever get to a Bond girl! Our friend Delband folded herself into the backseat and before you could say “Octopussy”, we were off to the city!
The party was great. I ran into Pamela Sorenson, Cindy Jones, Andrew Noyes, Aidah Fontenot and several of my other friends. Fashion Fights Poverty is an amazing cause, I’m very happy to support whenever I have the opportunity.
The week is coming to an end soon and I’m looking forward to Friday at The Shadow Room. I’m hosting a special event for HoopDreams.org with my friend Pamela. If you’re looking for a fabulous party that night, please come and hang out! Get your tickets at www.hoopdreams.org.
I’ll see you on Friday night. Wear something fabulous!

Last night I held the official DC Pre-Screening for the movie Twilight. Ok, I get it now.. Oh boy, do I get it! What a sexy film. I mean I know it’s meant for teenage girls but it had me and my girlfriend Joelle cuddling up on each other like two teenagers alone in a theater without their parents! It was definitely a new kind of Vampire film. The Vampires are kind of Glam… Glam Vams for sure! When they go in the sunlight, their skin looks like Diamonds. They’re all fast, strong and hot to boot! Even though it felt a little long from time to time, I’d still recommend going to see it.
Instead of hitting the town for my friend Brandt’s birthday party at Tatoo, I
decided to head home and get some work done. As I was tapping away on my laptop, The Real Housewives of Atlanta Finale show was on the TV. Now, I didn’t watch the show very much over the season but I’ll be sure to catch up on as much as possible. These chicks have drama like you’ve never seen!! Orange County who?!? All I can say is those blond women on the O.C. show better come correct before they get replaced as the first ladies of Bravo. There’s definitely a cultural difference in the Atlanta show that allows for the drama meter to sky rocket. Now try to see through the smoke and mirrors of that line! These “B”’s aint playin ya’ll. They will cut you hard, long, deep and repeatedly!
The Inauguration is coming in exactly 61 days. I’m already working on my Dior tuxedo and tickets to all of the best events. I received one today that said my good friend and former co-star on our short lived reality show “The Biz Life”, DJ Biz Markie would be on the turn tables. Biz and I did a show for “E!” Entertainment Television 4 years ago about Biz coming to my house in Vienna to DJ a pool party for me. The premise was, he shows up to Dj my party, he ends up getting spoiled by the maid and the cook. He finds himself a room in the lower level of the mansion and then when it’s time to roll out, he decides he wants to stay and live in my house. We become the modern day odd couple. He’s fat, I’m skinny, he’s sloppy, I’m neat. You know the deal. Very funny stuff but unfortunately there were creative differences on set. Biz and I stayed friends and now I’m to see he’s going to be a part of the Inaugural party scene.
I’m off to a voiceover for the cooking and entertaining show. If you missed it last week, please set your dvr or tivo for Saturday nights at 8pm and Sunday’s at 2pm on DC 50 (The CW).
Big Love to you all,
Paul xx
I spent the day talking to friends and business associates in LA! I got all of the juice. First off, my good friend lives in the same building as Michael C. Hall aka Dexter! He said it seems that Michael is dating the actress that plays his sister on show! He’s spotted them around having early morning breakfast in the neighborhood a few times and now his other biz buddies are starting to talk. Why was my initial reaction “Ewwwww”.. Are they that good at acting that I actually believed they are siblings? What do you think, maybe it’s a little weird, maybe not.
I also talked to my friend Ricardo Chavira, he plays Carlos on Desperate Housewives. He’s a great friend that always keep me laughing. He’s just had a new baby with his wife
recently, I’m very happy for him. I have to say, the last time we hung out in DC, we were running all over town and he was literally in a t-shirt, shorts and a cap. All of the sudden you would hear a little from the girls and they’d come running up to me to take pictures, etc. I was like, well actually, my, friend, he’s, big, star, Desperate….. Oh hell.. Nevermind. Strike a pose!
My manager Sidra Smith is producing all sorts of new films, tv shows and lining up my new projects. She’s been working with the editor on my new reel and a great new, national show that I’ll be hosting soon. Love you Sid..
Sidra is the twin sister of the very talented actress Tasha Smith. Tasha played Angela in Tyler Perry’s “Why Did I Get Married”to just name one of her several roles.
Tonight, I’m hosting my screening for Twlight. People have been ringing my phone off the hook to get tickets! Sorry kids, we’re full up. But, holla at me for the next one. Is anyone going to see Tina Turner this weekend?

Well my friends, it’s finally happened. My best friend Mary Barth (who many of you know by now as my partner in crime) has landed her flawless face on the cover of Washington Life Magazine’s annual style issue. Inside, you’ll find pictures of she and her husband Alex, the dynamic duo that I’m happy to call family. Now, let me explain the sheer fabulousness of this accomplishment.
Washington Life is the premier luxury lifestyle magazine in
Washington and the number one source for DC socialites, politicians, powerful business owners and hip fashionistas. Each month we run to the stands and flip through the pages to see what’s happening in and around DC’s high society scene. I know people that have waited years just to be featured in one of the event spreads that the magazine prints.
Landing the cover is just about the equivalent of winning Prom King or Queen! And now that Erika Gutierrez has landed a cover, I made the last style issue cover and now Mary is gracing the cover of this month, it seems that we’re all winning a very adult race for Most Popular! If you haven’t checked out Washington Life, pick yourself up a copy today!
(Erika’s cover to the left)
Twilight fever is upon us and I’ll be hosting our very own pre-release screening on Tuesday! For those of you that won tickets, I’ll see you there. I’m gearing up and can’t wait to bitten by the Twilight phenomenon (Robert Pattinson pictured).
Make something amazing happen today! You are so worth it!

Oh people, I am so proud of the work we did on The Metropolitan Cooking and Entertaining Show. If you missed it yesterday, you can catch an encore presentation at 2pm today. Paula Deen was magical, I’m so happy to know her. You can’t watch it and not fall in love with her. Lara Hopewell shined as my co-host, she’s really something.
I headed out to Josephine’s last night for a birthday party. I don’t usually hit the clubs on the weekends but my friend Nicole invited me to join her for a friend’s big birthday bash. I stayed there for a while and then hooked up with some other friends over at Town. We danced for hours! It was really a lot of fun.
Let me know what you think about the show! Hit me up in the comments section!

WOW!!!! What an amazing event! Twilight fever is in full effect. Tons of screaming fans came out in droves to Fair Oaks mall yesterday to meet and greet two of the stars of the new Mega Book series turned movie “Twilight”.
Kristen Stewart plays Bella, the star of the movie. You might remember her from her roles in the films Panic Room, Catch That Kid, Speak, Zathura, The Messengers, In the Land of Women, and the critically acclaimed Into the Wild. I had a chance to chat with Kristen before the event and get her thoughts on the film, her role, working with the other actors and all of the hot gossip you all love!
I also chatted with Nikki Reed, she plays Rosalie, the sister to Robert Pattinson’s character. She was so cute and nervous!
I wonder if these girls are ready to be big movie stars?? I actually caught a little Twilight Fever myself! Are
you guys coming to my advance screening of the film? Did you win tickets? If so, I’ll see you next week!
In the meantime, write me a note in the comments section about your favorite Twilight moment!!! I’ll be sure to do another give-a-way with really hot Twilight gear!
Big love to ya!
The most heated, high-stakes, and divisive Presidential election in recent memory is now over, and on Jan. 20, 2009, the U.S. will welcome Barack Obama as our next President. Even the most diehard Republicans would have to agree that President-Elect Obama ran an outstanding campaign, but Obama’s greatest challenges lie ahead: preventing our teetering economy from collapsing, ending a war that most U.S. citizens believe has gone on for far too long, helping more than 40 million uninsured Americans get the health care they need, improving an education system that has long been in disarray, and many more seemingly insurmountable tasks.
We are 67 days away from Barack Obama’s swearing in as the 44th President of the United States of America. Let’s all come together and do what we can to rebuild our nation. I feel so good about it!! Aren’t you energized??

As you know, we wrapped production of The Metropolitan Cooking and Entertaining Show and all that was left was a voice over session down at the Tribune News Bureau. I love working with our producer Candice. She and I make all sorts of off the wall jokes in the voice over booth, knowing the technician in the control booth is laughing hysterically on the floor! Very funny people, very funny! We had a lot to cover in a very short period of time but we did it. The show will be ready for all of you this Saturday at 8pm on DC 50!
In other news, I’ve been working with my LA team on an exciting new show. I’m hopeful that all will work out and we’ll have some exciting news for you soon. I may actually get out to LA on Friday to do handle a bit of business and see some people I love.
The HRC celebrated the premier of the new movie “MILK”. I got lots of inside scoop from the viewers. I also
went to dinner at Blue Duck Tavern in The Park Hyatt with Demetress. OMG, the food is soo good. After dinner, Shirley and Erika met us for drinks. One of the women had a “he’s just not that into me” story. I’m sure you all remember the Sex and The City episode where Miranda discovers her date is “just not that into her”.. Anyhow, what a bummer! Who in the hell wants to admit that someone else that they’ve met and clearly like is just not that into them? Certainly not me!
I’m looking forward to a big event we’re doing on Thursday with actress Kristen Stewart of the new movie “Twilight”. You all might remember Kristen from “The Panic Room”. Anyhow, I’ll let you know tomorrow where the event is, just in case you want to attend!
A quick story. A man that works at the restaurant comes over to our table tonight and says “You look like that guy from TV that’s on The CW”… I say ” yeah, that’s me”. He says “That’s so weird, you look like him”. I say “because I am him”. He says “well that makes sense, because you look just like him”. Only in DC kids, only in DC!

I spent most of the day connecting with friends and business associates. I have an exciting new project that I’m working on with Marcia Dyson. You all know that Marcia is a political activist, best friend of Hillary Clinton, wife of Professor Michael Dyson and second Mom to me. Marcia filled me in about her exciting time in Chicago on November 4th where she and Michael spent time with
Oprah and The Obamas.
Oh yes and who could forget, Marcia and Michael Eric Dyson were also my co-hosts on TV One’s Democratic Convention TV Show ” The Live After Party”! I love them both as family. Just know that we are developing something that is exciting and thoughtful for people around the globe. Marcia and I enjoyed Mimosas and a fantastic meal at Peacock Cafe in Georgetown. We talked life, love and business right up until the time she had to rush out to meet Madeline Albright.
After Marcia, I caught up with my personal hair stylists and make-up artist Demetress Valentine. We stopped over at Busboys and Poets and discussed upcoming work and “looks”. I really enjoy working with Demetress. She’s professional and tons of fun! You better do it Demetress (that’s my little line for her)..
Anyhow, today I’m off to do voice overs for The Metropolitan Cooking and Entertaining Show. It debuts this Saturday at 8pm on DC50 (CW). Set your DVR’s and Tivo’s now!!!
Cheers,
Paul xx
